Sparkle!

Wilton has some new products that I like (as well as some old ones that I still like). I think you will sense a common theme here...

I don't have any of this... but my uncle does, and it looks very nice on the chocolate cake he made for his son's 9th birthday (so sparkly!)

I have some of this. I've not used it much, but I should. It's pretty.

I've used this on cakes and what-have-you, including this cupcakes!

These just look tasty!

I've used these a lot: for the pirate cake, the wedding cake, I was planning to use them for my sweet 16 cake... I'd like to try the bright and the primary sugars too.

There you have it: some Wilton products that caught my eye!

Hey Kelsie,

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog

Bengali desserts are the most famous ones in India. Need I say I am Bengali too (hence the bias). The only thing is that people rarely make Bengali desserts at home. We normally buy them at sweet shops. My dad was pretty good at making Bengali sweets though.

I used to make chocolate souffle and a micro wave chocolate cake, from recipes from Milk Maid condensed milk, for my wife soon after we were married. They used to turn our pretty well. I used to find the cake specially thrilling as I was very kicked with the idea of making bread! I also used to make a smiley on top of the souffle bowl with Gems (tiny chocolates like Smarties). Haven't made desserts in ages. Keep eating them though :)

Wish I'd known about your cake sparklers in my dessert days

Happy baking

Do you know where I can get all of the edible cake decorations? I only found a few glittery pots in a party shop... Any ideas?! My mum used to make our birthday cakes when we were little so I am trying my hand at them now!

Check out my blog for soemthing a little different!

Hi and thanks for your comments.
I made rock buns and cup cakes but not larger cakes. Would like to try my hand at decorating ones. I heard you can use edible glitter and gold leaf as well.

I find drawing people difficult and feel there could be room for improvement. Bit nervous send submitting any of work. You never know I might win, I'm happy to get more exposure for my work.

Keep on making wonderful cakes and cookies. Anything with chocolate is my favorite.

Are all these chemicals good for you? I like food that may not look as cool, but is just well made and tastes good. The more natural, the better, that is.

Oh, College is great for me. Im almost done with it actually. Its just the catty-ness that gets to me.

How advanced into fondant are you? I think you could really go far with it. I know Wilson makes a nice bulk package of it if you just want to get a head start into it, making you're own can be kinda tricky, but if you've made gum paste, im assuming it wouldn't be that hard for ya!

Fun, fun, fun. I always check out the blogs noteworthy section on Blogger. I too love cakes and for my daughter's wedding, we did cupcakes. It was a big hit. I thought they turned out fairly nice for not being professional.

You can see the cupcakes at our family blog: http://becausemomsaidso.blogspot.com/2007/11/thats-what-i-said.html
